“Wa-Kyo” is an exclusive blended whisky by Suntory’s Chief Blender, Shinji Fukuyo, for the famous Japanese cellar, Shinanoya. This bottle is from a limited release of 539 bottles, which were all sold in pre-order. To pay tribute to Fukuyo’s blend, Shinanoya hired famous Japanese calligrapher, Master Shoshu, to design the bottle label. Shinji Fukuyo describes his “Wa-Kyo” as soft, sweet and intensely spicy, with notes of malt, grain, and honey. It is also marked by the inclusion of old Mizunara-casked Yamazaki going back as far as 1984, with spicy notes of incense and cinnamon, and will leave you with aromas of pepper in its long and smooth finish.
