A poker card-inspired series of 54 different whiskies from the now defunct Hanyu Distillery, recovered and released by Ichiro Akuto - visionary founder of Chichibu Distillery. A truely iconic range famous among whisky connoisseurs.
Descended from a venerable 17th-century sake business, Hanyu distillery was founded in 1941 and cashed in on Japan's postwar whisky craze. As whisky sales declined in the 1990s, however, the distillery struggled and finally closed in 2000.
