Pluscarden Valley was an old and rare brand of Single Malt Scotch whisky produced at the Miltonduff distillery in Elgin, Moray in the Speyside region. Now hard to find except at auction houses and specialist whisky merchants, Pluscarden Valley whisky has earned itself something of a cult following, especially amongst Japanese malt enthusiasts. Bottles of Pluscarden Valley are also few and far between, with most bottlings being offered by notable Italian independent bottlers such as Sestante and Silver Seal.
The whisky itself, produced by Miltonduff using the same water source in the same terroir, is regarded to have a very fragrant, oily, fruity character, benefitting from aging in various high quality sherry casks. Different old vintages from the 60s, 70s through 90s continue to change hands now and again in auction.
